Italy & Brazil Ministers of finance meet

On 5 June 2024 – Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti met with Brazilian Minister of Economy Fernando Haddad at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Mef). The meeting was cordial and constructive, with discussions centered around the upcoming G20 and G7 meetings in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in July. They focused on key issues such as international taxation, the proposed super-rich tax, investments, and projects by multilateral banks and the World Bank for fragile countries.

In addition to economic topics, the two ministers exchanged positive ideas on the global geopolitical situation. Their dialogue highlighted mutual interests and cooperation, setting a collaborative tone for the forthcoming international summits.
